Late Night with Cry and Russ: Welcome to the Leppy


Originally started on Youtube making let’s play videos, Cryaotic, or simply Cry, started doing live streams on Twitch TV for the fun of it. Occassionally, he would host a live stream and play games alongside his friends and other game commetators Russ Money, Scott Jund, The Dread Red, and Snake. Due to the rise in popularity, they started doing it on a regular basis.


In 2011, this became known as Late Night With Cry And Russ. Every Saturday starting at 11PM Eastern Standard Time, the Late Night Crew would get together and play a variety of video games, largely those can be found on Steam. These streams would last for about 8 hours on average. Examples of games that they played on the stream include Worms Revolution, Contagion, and Mount Your Friends.

Besides playing video games, the Late Night Crew also hosted live Dungeons and Dragons campaign entitled, The Truth, The Eye, and The Beholder. The first of eight sessions was played on September 21st, 2013. Not only have the Youtube uploads reached over hundred of thousands of views, but they have also spawned a variety of fan art as well as animations based on not only the campaign, but the overall live steam as well.late_night_d&d

Though the Late Night sessions are mainly done by Cry, Russ, Scott, Red, and Snake, there have been frequent guests who would reappear on the stream. Those guests include fellow gamers, Sp00n, Cinnamon Toast Ken, Minx, Zieg, and Strippin. On many occassions, the Late Night Crew will also play with fans of the stream. As of recently, Cry’s girlfriend, Cheyenne, had join the Late Night Crew.

Super Best Friends Play: The Hypest Gamers on Youtube


matt patYoutube gaming scrublords have been making a lot of progress over the past few years. Super Best Friends Play, orginally known as Two Best Friends Play and also referred to as the Best Friends Zaibatsu, are a group of Canadian game commentators. The Zaibatsu consists of Matt, Pat, Woolie, and Liam They made their debut back 2010 when Matt ended up asking Pat to make a video of them playing Kirby’s Epic Yarn.

After that and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Machinima contacted them and they started doing a series of let’s play complimation for them. Not too long after, Matt and Pat decided to start posting full playthroughs of games on their channel called thesw1tcher; first one being Resident Evil 2.

woolieliamIt wasn’t long for the Zaibatsu to venture into new ideas for content. First early examples would be Super Best Friends Play, in which either Woolie, Liam, or both would join Matt and Pat in a playthrough, and Super Best Friends Brawl in which they all compete in a free for all game. The Zaibatsu aslo have made series based on a theme that include the wresting game theme series, Ruslemania, and the month of October dedicated to horror games which is referred to the Shitstorm.

The Zaibatsu’s success drew attention to animators. Most notable animator would be 2snacks (left). He worked with them on making their Machinma video openings, an animated series called Two Best Friends Funtime Adventure, and other projects. Another animator that has worked with them is Plague of Gripes (right), who who created several animations and The Shitstorm 2: The Shittening opening.

Besides producing their own videos, the Super Best Friends Play have ventured into other territories. On numerous occasions, Matt, Pat, and Woolie guest appeared on the informational gaming series called Did You Know Gaming. They also run their own weekly podcast called Super Best Friendscast as well as their own website (as seen below).

The Best Friends Zaibatsu are still pushing new content and will continue to hype you up.
